Aloha E komo mai!

My full name is John Fe’ao- moe-Lotu Vaiosi Hatini Finau, I also go by Sione. I was born in Long Beach, California and I am the eldest of five (4 boys & 1 girl). In 2000, my family received the call to serve as missionaries to the island of Fiji. Which was a transformative experience as I become closer to my faith and my Polynesian roots. At the age of fifteen, I was enrolled into Methodist boarding school at Wesley College in New Zealand. It was while attending Wesley College, that I received my call into ministry. With a renewed sense of purpose, I applied and enrolled into Hawaii Pacific University at the age of 17. This blessing was gifted to me through the grace and love of a special mentor and friend – Rev. Dr. Frank Butterworth. In 2012, I graduated with a B.A in Communication. In that same year, I enrolled into Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia for a Masters in Divinity. My experience in Atlanta, not only enriched my spiritual life but also affirmed that I wanted to become a Pastor. In 2015, I graduated with my Masters in Divinity and was appointed to Keolumana United Methodist Church. My time at Keolumana, shaped me to be a better leader and servant for God. And after serving faithfully for five years, I am now excited to begin my new journey at Parker UMC.

A little about my passions in ministry. I love all forms of worship, building relationships and seeking creative ways to be the church. On my down time I love to hike, play with my new puppy (J.J), or simply watch a movie.

As we navigate through this COVID-19 pandemic, please know that Parker UMC is praying for you.

Grace and Aloha,
Pastor John ‘Sione’ Finau
